Words and Sounds
sixty/79 is a collaboration of words and sounds that came about by virtue of a mutual love of performance poetry and contemporary experimental music. Our debut album "Twelve" is available on our Bandcamp page and features the BBC Playlisted track “4: Floodwater”. sixty/79 will play selected live dates in the future and are currently working on a follow up to "Twelve". sixty/79 is:
Steve Carroll is a writer, performer and musician based in Leicester. Steve’s poetry and fiction has been published in a number of magazines and e-zines, including Route, Psychopoetica, Hinterland, The Coffee House and Neonbeam.
James Hellard is a musician, composer and sound artist based in Leicester. James's early compositions were made by cutting up tapes to create samples and loops, multitracked on an old Tascam 4 track. After several stints as bassist in alternative rock and metal bands, James rediscovered his love of using technology as a means of composing.
